The conference will take place at the main administration building (#201) on UNIST campus in Ulsan. UNIST has truly become one of the world’s leading science and technology universities since its opening in 2009. In 2015, UNIST made the leap from a national university to a government-funded research institute, marking the first major step in realizing its vision to be ranked in the top 10 of globally competitive universities by 2030.
UNIST has also won many large-scale national R&D projects, such as Green Energy Material Technology Development Center with funding of $1.7 billion for 5 years and New Growth Engine Project Group with funding of $1.61 billion for 5 years. This status change of UNIST signifies a new beginning, in essence, rebirth of UNIST. This would not only bring UNIST to range with three other Korea’s S&T Research Institutes, KAIST, GIST, and DGIST, but also a wider international recognition for UNIST researchers.
